What We're About

You’re Never too old, (YNTO) started life as a day service operating as part of the With You Ltd organization in 2014. In January 2020 we separated out into our own charity, relying now solely on donations and the kind support of our volunteers.

We are committed to supporting the elderly living in isolation, in the North West of Edinburgh. Our mission is to get elderly people, who are living in isolation out of their homes, mixing with others, enjoying social interaction, making good friends and creating new memories. Our team of experienced and dedicated volunteers ensure the well-being of group members is at the heart of everything they do.

On a monthly basis our core team meet to discuss and arrange forth coming events for our group members. For the day to day running of YNTO seven volunteers support the daily programs. We also have volunteers with specific skill sets who also run regular classes and events. One of these popular events is the Monday Keep fit class which is a gentle exercise program.

Our philosophy is to improve the well-being of our members and we are very proud of our achievements to date. We continue to create opportunities to increase independence, creativity and encourage healthy living with our members. Such as running classes to prepare healthy food or express themselves through creative arts or reminisce with other members on key life moments.

YNTO offers a much-valued resource within the North West Edinburgh area. With ongoing referrals being made through local connections and the Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership. Further work is ongoing to embed YNTO within the local community, to primarily encourage prevention of social isolation as well as intervention.

Service Development Manager & Trustee

Anne Stewart

Anne Stewart

Hello and welcome to YNTO. I have worked in the care sector for over 15 years and gained a great amount of knowledge and experience. I love the work I do, bringing a smile to peoples faces, giving people the opportunity to try new activities, making new friends and bringing people together every week. I am dedicated to try and make sure “YNTO” continues with donations and funding. We can and do make a difference to old people’s lives. Our motto is our name.

Help me to help them keeping old people smiling. We are not here to make a profit. We are here to make a difference and make the elderly smile, giving them a purpose and giving them something to look forward to.
